List building is the most important thing you can do as an online business owner! Your number one priority should be list building. Above growing your social media following, above growing your group, everything! You can do all that while growing your list!
I was inspired to write this post because Facebook recently suspended my ads account. It was a slap in the face. Granted the suspension is only for 30 days, but it’s right in the middle of my launch! It couldn’t be a worse time!
Being the person I am, always looking on the bright side of all negative situations, I started my gratitude list. The one thing that kept coming up over and over again was my email list. My list is really saving my a**.
Your list is not only a cushion to fall back on, your list is also a solid foundation for your business! The majority of sales will come from your list. If you’re already getting clients from social media, imagine what you’re missing if list building isn’t a priority for you!

Now that you know how to create a sales funnel, in this article I’m going to share with you how to market your funnel so you can focus on list building!
Here are my top three secrets for list building rapidly:
- Use a pop up on your website- feature a pop up opt in box on your website. I recommend having the pop up appear when visitors scroll down the page (they already are partly interested because they are browsing). Now in order for this to work you need traffic to your website! Use seo, linking your website in your social media bios, and guest blogging are all great ways to get traffic to your website.
- Partner with your competition- Create a mutual beneficial relationship with people who have the same or similar ideal clients/customers as you. You can do this by creating an opt in for a giveaway (where you all giveaway some of your best work), a telesummit, or interview series.
- Run ads to your landing pages- Having paid ads to your opt in page is by far the fastest way to grow your list. Facebook ads are great, but does not have to be the end all be all (I learned that this week). I have been using twitter ads for the past three days. At $40 a day I have 100 new leads on my list so far, that’s $1.20 a lead! Not too shabby especially when you factor in 2 of those leads have become customers. $120 investment with $880 pure profit. Also, Google Adwords is supposedly great too but costs are much higher.
